West Palm Beach CPR Training Trusted By The Community

Official American Heart Association BLS CPR Training Site

CPR Certification West Palm Beach is an Official American Heart Association Training Site serving the community since 2015. Our AHA BLS class includes infant CPR training within a broader hands-on course that also covers adult CPR, child CPR, AED use, and choking relief.

How the AHA BLS Course Addresses Infant CPR

Infant CPR Skills Covered in the AHA BLS Course

Students from West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Wellington, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and the surrounding Palm Beach County and southern Martin County communities use our site for hands-on certification. Tenet Healthcare’s Palm Beach Health Network (St. Mary’s Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palm Beach Children’s Hospital, Delray Medical Center, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Wellington Regional Medical Center), Jupiter Medical Center, JFK Medical Center, Bethesda Hospital East, the Palm Beach County School District (over 22,000 employees), Florida Atlantic University, NextEra Energy, and the ODP Corporation all keep steady year-round demand for credentialed CPR training.

Infant Rescue Breaths and Choking Relief

During class you practice two-finger chest compressions on an infant manikin with a target depth of approximately 1.5 inches. The target compression rate is 100 to 120 per minute with full chest recoil between compressions. Rescue breaths are practiced and scaled to infant lung capacity. Infant choking relief is also covered, including back blows and chest thrusts for a responsive infant and the transition to CPR if the infant becomes unresponsive. A certified AHA instructor provides real-time feedback throughout and your infant CPR skills are assessed before your AHA BLS Certification card is issued.

All of this is practiced hands-on with a certified AHA instructor providing real-time feedback. Skills are assessed at the end of class before your card is issued. Our Basic Life Support CPR class includes infant CPR training within the broader AHA BLS curriculum, along with adult CPR, child CPR, AED use, and choking relief. It is not a dedicated Infant CPR class. Confirm the exact course name your employer, licensing agency, or family requires before enrolling.

Who Takes AHA BLS CPR Certification in West Palm Beach

NEW AND EXPECTING PARENTS

Infant CPR training in West Palm Beach is part of the AHA BLS CPR class and is taken by daycare staff and infant-room teachers across the Palm Beaches; parents preparing for newborns; pediatric and labor-and-delivery staff at Jupiter Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center, and the Palm Beach Health Network hospitals; nannies and household child caregivers serving Palm Beach and the Estate Section; and grandparents preparing for full-time caregiver roles.

CHILDCARE WORKERS AND DAYCARE STAFF

Florida childcare facilities often require current CPR credentials for directors and staff, which is why many childcare teams book AHA BLS. If your licensing board requires a course focused exclusively on infant CPR, confirm that before enrolling.

NANNIES AND AU PAIRS

Many families want nannies and au pairs to hold a current CPR credential before they begin working with infants and young children. AHA BLS gives them a recognized hands-on class that includes infant CPR as part of a complete curriculum.

BABYSITTERS

AHA BLS gives babysitters a recognized, hands-on certification that covers infant CPR as part of a complete course alongside child and adult CPR. It is not a course dedicated exclusively to infant CPR.

Frequently Asked Questions About AHA BLS CPR Classes in West Palm Beach

No. CPR Certification West Palm Beach does not offer a standalone infant CPR class. Our AHA BLS certification course includes infant CPR as one component of a complete curriculum covering adults, children, and infants. If your employer, licensing board, or situation requires a course dedicated exclusively to infant CPR, seek a program specifically designed for that purpose.

AHA BLS stands for American Heart Association Basic Life Support. It is the most widely accepted CPR certification in the United States and is required by most Florida employers in healthcare, education, fitness, and other fields. The course covers high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, AED use, bag valve mask ventilation, and choking relief.

If your employer, school, or licensing board requires CPR certification, AHA BLS is often the credential they are looking for. It is widely accepted by Florida healthcare employers and commonly required by schools, licensing programs, and healthcare organizations. If you are unsure whether BLS is the right course for your situation, call us before booking and we will confirm. If your requirement is specifically for a dedicated infant CPR class rather than BLS certification, this is not that course.

No prior training or experience is required. The AHA BLS course is designed for both first-time students and experienced healthcare professionals. Anyone 16 years of age or older can take the class.

Approximately 4 to 4.5 hours including hands-on practice, the multiple choice exam, and the skills assessment. Plan for a half day.

No. The American Heart Association requires a hands-on skills assessment as a mandatory component of BLS certification. Online-only courses cannot fulfill that requirement. Florida hospitals, the Joint Commission, state licensing boards, and most employers specifically require an AHA BLS card issued by an authorized training site following in-person skills assessment. Online-only certificates are not the same credential and are regularly rejected at credentialing and onboarding.

Two years from the date of issue. Your card has the expiration date printed on it. The AHA recommends renewing before your card expires rather than after to avoid any gap in compliance with your employer or licensing board.

AHA BLS certification issued by an authorized training site is widely recognized in healthcare and is often the credential employers, schools, and programs look for when CPR requirements are tied to the Florida Board of Nursing, the Florida Board of Dentistry, Joint Commission standards, or OSHA-related expectations. If your employer, board, or program has a specific CPR policy, confirm the exact requirement before enrolling.
